How do I care for my tree?

  • Each tree arrives with care instructions
  • You’ll also receive a free snow-white tree disposal bag (which doubles as a tree skirt) with your purchase

Directions for set-up:

Immediately upon receipt, make a fresh cut to the trunk of the tree, 1/2" to 1" up, and place the trunk in a bucket (or stand) filled with water.

What do I add to the water to make my tree last longer?

"Simple...more water! Your tree's water reservoir level should be checked frequently, especially during the first few days after receipt."

Care and condition of your tree:

Your tree has been carefully nurtured for 4 to 11 years. New, fresh, green needles grow on the outward end of the branches every year, and the old growth needles nearest the trunk of the tree naturally dry up and fall. You may find some of these needles at the bottom of the shipping container. This is no cause for concern. Our trees are cut fresh within a few days of your receiving it from us. We do our best to shake these old needles off before shipping, but unfortunately, it does not remove all of the old growth. Transportation and handling during delivery does a much better job of loosening this old growth, resulting in a lot of these needles settling at the bottom of the carton. We recommend that you carefully remove the bottom of the carton outdoors, saw a fresh cut in the trunk of the tree, and place the tree in a water source (stand or bucket). Bring the tree indoors and remove the rest of the carton. DO NOT FORCE THE BRANCHES DOWN. As the tree warms to room temperature, the branches will naturally fall to their original position in a day or so. The tree may be frozen, and must thaw. It's been snowing here in Northern Vermont since early October! Keep your tree away from all sources of heat to prevent it from drying out.
